Between Narlıdere and Lithuania…
Narlıdere Municipality and Lithuania's Trakai District Municipality signed a memorandum of cooperation in the fight against climate change.
As part of the Urban Strategies and Local Practices Association's Turkey-Lithuania Cooperation Project, Narlıdere Municipality and Trakai District Municipality in Lithuania will collaborate. The two municipalities signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the implementation of the European Green Deal, the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP), and the development of Green and Smart Cities.

Developing green solutions…
According to the signed agreement, Narlıdere and Trakai will collaborate on projects to develop green and innovative solutions, waste management, green energy and green transformation, the development of renewable energy sources, and the promotion of a circular economy. The agreement will bring together Narlıdere and Trakai Municipalities, public institutions, and scientific and business communities from Turkey and Lithuania. The collaboration aims to present green and innovative proposals, share practices in the field of green and smart city development, and develop and participate in joint project proposals.

Narlıdere Mayor Erman Uzun
Erman Uzun, Mayor of Narlıdere District in Izmir, noted that they have taken another step in combating climate change with the agreement signed with the Trakai Municipality of Lithuania. Narlıdere Municipality recently joined the MLGP4Climate Platform and signed the "EU for Energy Transition: Covenant of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Türkiye." Mayor Uzun emphasized their commitment to working in this area.
