The 60th World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) concluded successfully in Istanbul in September 2024, with the theme "Code Red for Earth." The world landscape architects organization called on humanity to take urgent action against the climate crisis.

He called on policymakers, professionals, scientists, and individuals to chart a course for the world's future. He emphasized that every activity that could lead to climate and environmental disasters occurs on the landscape.

This organization also clarified the future direction of landscape architecture profession and education.

The profession of the future… Why?

IThe climate crisis and the need for a just life are of particular concern to landscape architects. In fact, this is where the most significant distinction between landscape architecture and other professional disciplines emerges.

This is why landscape architecture is called "the profession of the future." Because the discipline and profession of landscape architecture possesses a holistic approach that can realize universal sustainability decisions, such as "Agenda 2030, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the EU Green Deal," in the face of the climate crisis accelerated by unbridled capitalism.
