The Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department is planting various rose varieties in designated median strips and intersections throughout the city. Drought-resistant shrubs will be preferred to minimize water consumption.

The Diyarbakır Parks and Gardens Department, which also produces plants at its Yenişehir district nursery, will enrich the city's designated median strips and intersections with 46,000 rose seedlings of various varieties. This year, the department purchased 36,000 Muhammediye and Meyland roses.

In addition, it will cultivate 10 thousand roses in its own nursery from cuttings taken from areas where roses of the same species are cultivated.

Taking into account the decrease in water resources caused by the climate crisis, the nursery and afforestation branch will take care to choose plants that consume less water in parks and gardens.
