Mersin Traffic Park Project

The track allocated within the park will include a bicycle path, median strips, pavement arrangements (islands), traffic information signs, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings and road markings.

For example, when we think of a city like Mersin, there will be those who think that the scale is too small to provide traffic education to children. Therefore, these projects may seem “for show and unimportant”. However, as a country that has failed in education, it should not be forgotten that some prototypes can set an important example.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality has redesigned the regional park that has lost its functions in the northwest of Marina Junction of Adnan Menderes Boulevard in Yenişehir district. In the project covering a total of 12,000 m2, 850 m2 has been allocated as a traffic entertainment track where children can have fun and drive battery-powered cars. The track will include a bicycle path, median strips, sidewalk arrangements (islands), traffic information signs, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and road markings. The remaining area of the park has been planned for recreational functions. It is very important to provide children with the opportunity to start traffic education at an early age.
