Organized Industrial Zone solution for Ankara…

A site is being sought for the Agriculture-Based Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ), and once the location is determined, ATO and SÜSBİR will begin feasibility studies and bring the project to maturity. All the best...

Ninety percent of the producers and sapling vendors around Karşıyaka Cemetery operate on leased land. When the area was zoned for development, rising rents forced nurserymen to look for work. This problem has persisted for approximately 10-12 years, with buildings rising on the outskirts of the sector.

The search for a place for the sector in Ankara continued during the ABB and Gökçek periods, as well as during Mansur Yavaş's. Dialogue with the ATO continued, but the proposed solutions proved inadequate. SÜSBİR actively continued discussions with the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and other public institutions. The solution became clear when Namet Koçak, Vice President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce's Landscape, Environmental Arrangement, and Construction Activities Committee, and Ahmet Dallı, Ankara Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, openly supported the sector's search for a solution.

Ultimately, the proposal for an agricultural-based organized industrial zone (OIZ) was effectively agreed upon. The relevant institutions have begun work to identify a location for the OIZ, which will be built on a minimum of 500 decares of land near the city center. Result: Immediately after the desired location is found, a feasibility study will be conducted for the OIZ, which will be established in collaboration with SÜSBİR and the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, and an application will be submitted to the Ministry. Ankara is a significant consumption area for ornamental plant producers. The relief provided to vendors and producers in this region will undoubtedly contribute positively to the sector.
