Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has been awarded a grant for the Horizon Europe project titled “Shift2Sustain: Promoting Behavior Change in Mobility Towards Sustainability”, developed by the European Commission within the scope of the Horizon Europe Programme Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission Call.

Selected as a pilot city along with seven other European cities, Izmir will map existing transportation systems, develop new mobility management plans, and raise awareness through participatory workshops, digital platforms, and gamification methods.

The entire budget of the project, which will start in November and last for 36 months, will be covered by the European Union.
