Workforce development! ELCA 2026
The ELCA management board met on October 9, 2025, and approved the 2026 plan of the European Landscape Contractors Association (ELCA). The plan outlines next year's political lobbying activities, member collaborations, and services for ELCA Companies Committee members. Considering the changing societal demands on the sector and the challenges companies face in organizing their workforce, the plan summarizes ELCA's 2026 theme as "Workforce Development: Skills Development".
Agenda Setting
ELCA continues its work during the 2024-2029 European Term, setting the agenda for European institutions. It remains committed to the EU Green Deal agenda. Climate and biodiversity are two key elements of this Deal and are closely linked to nature-based solutions. Meanwhile, the EU Nature Restoration Directive, part of the Green Deal, has entered into force. ELCA also serves on the expert group advising the European Commission on its implementation. Furthermore, ELCA responds to public consultations on topics such as the Evaluation of EU Public Procurement Directives, the EU Water Resilience Strategy, the EU Affordable Housing Scheme, the EU Cities Agenda, the Bioeconomy Strategy, the Skills Union, and the Roadmap to Nature Loans. ELCA emphasizes that it will continue working on these themes in 2026.
