Furcraea selloana 'Variegata'‘
Furcraea selloana 'Variegata' is a strong and sculptural succulent, notable for its cream-yellow variegated leaves resembling those of the agave. Originating in tropical and subtropical regions, it is particularly suitable as an accent plant in landscaping.

Furcraea selloana
Leaf Characteristics: Long, stiff, and sword-shaped, with very small teeth along the edges (not as sharp as agave). Its growth is slower than the regular variety due to the cream/yellow mottling on a green background. Dimensions: Flower stalk 5–7 m and leaf length 1–1.8 m. As it matures, it acquires a rather imposing and striking appearance.

Furcraea selloana
Lighting Requirement: Full sun to partial shade; sun is essential for the varietal pattern to develop, but in excessively hot regions during summer, midday sun can cause leaf burn.

Furcraea selloana
Irrigation: Tolerant of drought, requiring minimal water retention, especially in the Aegean inland areas, as the soil dries out completely in summer and very little in winter (this is particularly important).

Cold resistance: It can tolerate short-term temperatures of -3 / -5 °C. Leaves are damaged during prolonged frosts. It is more suitable for the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. It must be protected in inland areas.
Soil requirements: These are sandy-gravel mixes with very good drainage, and drainage holes in the pot are absolutely essential.
Blooming: Because it is a monocarpic plant (the main plant dies after flowering), a giant flower stalk that can reach 5–7 m develops after about 8–15 years, and it produces offsets from the base before flowering.
Production: Propagation by basal shoots (offspring) and seed is rare and difficult. It can be effective individually in landscape gardens, especially in rock gardens and large pots. It is compatible with palms, cycas, and yucca.
