<\/p>\nAzap Lake, located between the villages of Ye\u015filk\u00f6y and Av\u015far within the borders of S\u00f6ke district of Ayd\u0131n province, next to the ancient city of Myus and in the northwest of the Latmos (Be\u015fparmak) Mountains, has begun to dry up.<\/p>\n

The main water sources that feed Lake Azap are the rainfall falling on the lake area, the Be\u015fp\u0131nar, K\u0131\u015fla, Hay\u0131rl\u0131 and Kavakl\u0131bo\u011faz streams that carry the rainfall falling in the basin to the lake, and the water coming from the B\u00fcy\u00fck Menderes River during rainy seasons.<\/p>\n

The water depth, which was five or six meters, dropped to 130 cm. While the lake's water level is likely due to drought, one of the most significant causes is the mining pits in the Be\u015fparmak Mountains.
